James 2:15 "Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, 'Go, I wish you well; keep warm and be fed,"'but does nothing about his physcial needs, what good is it?" 1 John 3:17 "If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? " John 15:8 "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

Bringing Hope to Those Who Have Lost Hope..... .....that's what we want to do. We want to give hope to those who are physically suffering, socially abandoned, economically trapped, and spiritually seeking. - We will seek to do this by assigning our team members, called Directors of Community, to the seven or more most needy areas of Trujillo, Peru. These are people who will work full time in each of these areas, seeking to organize Community Groups which will include sports, educational and work opportunities, formation of volunteer fire departments, and first aid groups, etc.
- Our workers will also work to create Christian Community Groups. Their purpose will be to encourage those who are seeking a deeper, stronger faith in God. We believe doing so will make life in general much better.
- We will also be working to develop and build in each area a Community Center with a concrete sports court, several small stores, a large general use room, some class rooms and possibly a day care center and a small clinic.
We will carry out our goals with emphasis on the following: - We will be working to develop businesses so this project can become financially free in the future and not dependent on outside support. We will seek to make cottage industries or home businesses possible. We will seek to create small businesses in the barrios (most needy neighborhoods), and we will be working to create large companies that will provide jobs and support for this project.
- We will launch a program called La Fuerza. The purpose is to involve university students and graduates in an intern program for which they will receive a diploma. We will seek to involve them in the area of their major so they can best work with us in helping the most needy people.
- We are working to develop several special help centers. One is a Womens' Refuge Village for battered women, young pregnant girls, elderly women living on the streets, etc. Another is a Rehab Center for drug addicts and alcoholics, as well as a project to help the people who work in the city dump.
- We are working with Hope for Kids International to sponsor the most needy kids and possibly to build a childrens' hospital that will serve northern Peru.
We are under way. Currently, we have nine families living in Trujillo. In the other sections of this web site you can learn more about our project.

Our Mission StatementProject New Hope International | Our mission is to launch and provide financing for a six-year urban project in the city of Trujillo, Peru. We want to establish ONE citywide indigenous church by focusing on up to 9 barrios or villas. We will reach and train Encouragers of Community in each of these areas who will be trained to reach people through a 'story telling method' of planting churches. We will seek to build community centers in each of these barrios which will serve as activity centers to bring people together in order to know them help them and reach them. Our goal is to help those in each of these first Community Centers, to repeat the process of planting another Community Center 3 or 4 years down the road for those in another needy barrio, and then keep repeating that every 3 or 4 years into the future. Our work in these areas will be led by Latin missionaries who are trained and equipped to make disciples for Christ and train them to lead an ongoing, expanding, reproducible, disciple-making, church-planting movement. Project New Hope - PERU is being carried out through cooperation of Team Expansion of Louisville, Kentucky, a mission organization, and Project New Hope International from Arizona. Project New Hope International and its supporters are committed to financially back the launching of this project for six years. Our goal is that within six years the project will be financially independent and self supporting and that we can then move on to another Latin City and repeat the process. |
