Crossroads Christian from Corona, CA Posted 11-13-08 We were blessed with the presence of a group from Crossroads Christian Church from Corona, California. They worked with children in several barrios, visited the farm, and visited the new barrio we hope to open next year. Thanks for coming down, gang! In this picture, Patti Anderson (a board member and on staff at Crossroads for 25 years) did a personality workshop for our team, which was well received and very valuable. Thanks Patti!
Visitors Posted 10-13-08 These four men visited Peru in October - Tim, Paul, Jim, David. Paul and Jim were focusing in on how to help our businesses. Tim was focusing on coming along side Mike and helping him in his new role as General Manager. David was a great help to Mike and will be to the team in helping them get better on track with Life Winds and Oral Bible Story Telling. Thanks men for going down and offering your help.
Oral Bible Story Telling Posted 10-13-08 Carla Bowman, from Scriptures In Use, visited our team recently and shared with our women directors how to use the Oral Bible Story Telling more effectively in the barrios. We are grateful to her for this invaluable training.
Praise The Lord Posted 9-5-08 These are some of the 25+ youth who were baptized after a youth camp held in July with kids from one of the barrios. Youth are finding new life and purpose for living.
City Church Posted 9-5-08 This is a picture of the new place the City Church is holding their Sunday morning service. It is an event center and the people are still cleaning up after the Saturday night parties when our team arrives on Sunday morning. They have a discipleship class at 9:00 a.m. and then a service at 10:30 a.m.

Possible New Barrio Posted 11-13-08 Lord Willing, we will be opening a new barrio this coming year. Initial investigations and contact have already been made with the people in this barrio. Most of the people have lived there for two years, but they have had a really slow development as a barrio. We hope to take good news to them starting next year.
Future Site of the Women's Village Posted 11-13-08 Aaahhhh, yes. The Women's Village. This is the site the government wants to give us to build the Women's Village. It is about 10 miles north of town, which is fine. It is on the Pan American Highway, which is wonderful because there are a lot of buses always going by it. They are also planning on building a school on one side, and an orphanage on the other side. The rest of the land around there will be farming, which will keep it tranquil. KEEP PRAYING that this continues. This is taking a long time but in the end, if this finally works out, it will be well worth it.
Next Community Center Posted 10-13-08 We hope to build the next community center in this spot in the newest of the barrios we are working in. They have no water, plumbing, electricity, etc.
Trash Collecting Posted 10-13-08 This month the children from the barrios were organized to collect trash. This little girl was happily going along picking up trash and trying to make her barrio clean. She made a comment that her dad was the worst in the barrio for throwing trash out.
Barrio Groups Posted 10-13-08 Maggie is helping with groups in each barrio to teach the people how to lead groups in many areas. Each barrio has their own representatives for areas such as - kids choirs, sports, health, womens groups, etc. They have their own officers and are responsible to carry out these tasks in their barrios.

Dr. Alan Pickering Posted 11-13-08 Dr. Alan Pickering, a psychologist from Dallas, went with me to Trujillo. What a man of God! He was going from early to late speaking with all kinds of groups in Trujillo. In this picture he was preaching in one of two barrios he visited.
Marriage Seminar Posted 11-13-08 Dr. Alan Pickering also did a marriage seminar for the City Church. Over half attending were new people who had never attended anything. It was obvious from the response that he could set up a full-time practice in town for counseling. This was held in the hall that the City Church rents for Sundays and special events like this.
More Sessions with Dr. Pickering Posted 11-13-08 Dr. Pickering also spent a morning with our team of men, the barrio Directors. He shared items about marriage and facing the challenges of being a man of God in this world. He is seen here with our team leaders. Alan also spoke to a group of 180 women his last night in town. These were city women, whom we are reaching out to with the hopes of getting them involved with Women of Hope. The Women of Hope in Trujillo is helping raise funds for the childrens choirs in the barrios and down the road will hopefully be involved in raising funds for the operation of the Women's Village.
Tim Coop Posted 10-13-08 Tim Coop, one of the pastors from Pantano on his trip to Peru, had gathered kids to take a picture. They love having their picture taken.
"Futbol" Posted 10-13-08 The barrio councils have organized a "futbol" championship and will be having teams from different age groups compete in the finals in October.
Expanded Choir Posted 10-13-08 Last year we started girls choirs in the barrios. They learn song, get a Bible lesson, etc. This year the boys complained that they were not included. So they let the boys join too. Each barrio has their own choir. Women from the city of Trujillo are helping raise money to pay for the director. People in the barrios are helping out with a number of things too. It is great. They just had their first competition and here we show three of the finalist choirs. They had four judges from the city.
