PROJECT NEW HOPE INTERNATIONAL

Bringing Hope to those who have lost hope!

New Hope International Medical Team

Posted 8-25-07

A team of doctors from the United States, representing a variety of specialties, is currently working with a team of doctors in Trujillo, Peru.  One member of the team is a representative from Project Cure.  Project Cure is an organization that catalogs and warehouses donated medical and dental equipment, and then donates it to worthy mission projects all over the world.  The only cost is for shipping.

On the first mission trip in June 2007, the team assessed the equipment needs of the Belen Hospital (the largest hospital in Trujillo), the National University Medical and Dental Schools, Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego Medical and Dental Schools, and four clinics in the barrios.  The goal of the team, through Project Cure, is to provide these facilities with more modern equipment so the present staff can treat more patients with a much higher standard of care.

With help from Hope 4 Kids International, the team is committed to build and equip six free standing clinics in the barrios.  These will be staffed with volunteers from the local medical and dental community.  The faculty of both medical and dental schools have suggested that volunteering in these clinics could be a required part of their curriculum.

This is a six year project.  The goal is that when completed, each facility will be capable of operating on it's own momentum.  The mission will have been completed.
